Senior Platform Engineer – Global Network Operations

The Senior Platform Engineer will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of Mastercard’s large-scale, multi-site, multi-vendor MPLS network environments. This role involves global collaboration with teams across regions and managing network implementation, upgrades, and operational improvements to meet evolving business and security needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement robust, secure MPLS network solutions across multiple global sites.

• Manage and execute network projects, ensuring timely delivery, optimal resource utilization, and alignment with business goals.

• Upgrade and re-architect existing corporate and Mastercard networks to support emerging technologies and growth initiatives.

• Troubleshoot network communications and operations issues, ensuring minimal impact to customer or backbone access and performance.

• Participate in telecommunications and unified network initiatives; research and recommend innovative networking solutions.

• Provide planning, time and cost control, and implementation oversight for assigned regional and global network projects.

Additional Responsibilities – Thailand Region

• Serve as liaison for colocation vendor management, coordinating with remote hands teams for racking, cabling, and ongoing data center support.

• Assist with data center infrastructure installations and troubleshooting at colocation facilities.

• Maintain accurate documentation for Data Center Engineering, ensuring alignment with evolving requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5 years of IT experience, with a focus on:

  • Networking (LAN/WAN, Firewalls, wireless, and security technologies)

  • TCP/IP protocol communications and diagnostics (BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS)

  • Strong familiarity with Cisco products and solutions

  • SD-WAN deployment and support (Fortinet preferred)

• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.

• Self-starter with strong problem-solving and listening skills.

• Willingness to support a 24/7 global network environment and travel occasionally as required.
