Senior Data Center Engineer – European Operations

Our European Data Center team is seeking a Senior Data Center Engineer to expand operational capacity and ensure seamless, secure, and scalable data center operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain IT infrastructure within colocation data center facilities to support Mastercard’s global operations.

• Manage vendor and colocation provider relationships, including daily operations, contract reviews, renewals, and service compliance.

• Coordinate third-party integrators for installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

• Support incident response and outage resolution, including occasional on-call support for critical issues.

• Maintain hardware, cabling, and network layout documentation for operational transparency and audits.

• Ensure adherence to physical and network security standards and participate in internal/external audits and site assessments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure scaling, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

• Perform cabling diagnostics, racking, and equipment installations with attention to power and cooling efficiency.

• Continuously enhance technical expertise and contribute knowledge to team initiatives and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).

• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (networking, power, cooling, physical security).

• Experience in colocation environments with hardware deployments and equipment installations.

• Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and familiarity with storage/compute hardware.

• Knowledge of networking protocols and ability to troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues.

• Strong documentation and communication skills for interaction with vendors, clients, and internal teams.

• Ability to manage audits, compliance checks, and operational reporting in a regulated environment.
